Welcome to the North Hertfordshire Minority Ethnic Forum
 orth Hertfordshire Minority Ethnic Forum is an umbrella organisation for the Black and Minority Ethnic Communities. The Forum provides various services to improve the quality of life of the BME people. These include information, advice and guidance on housing, benefits, employment, education, training and heath matters. We also have range of skills development course and activities to increase the employability of BME people. We have projects for the children and young people to support them in education and prevent any future disadvantage. The Forum is also used by various organisations as an access and meeting point to reach the BME communities. Forum’s aim is to help local black and minority ethnic communities to overcome problems that prevent them from playing a full part in the social, economic and environmental life. To achieve this goal we would like to improve the quality of life for local Black and Minority Ethnic communities by:
- Maintaining an access point for the BME groups in North Hertfordshire.
- Supporting BME communities to improve their skills.
- Supporting BME women to improve their confidence, self-esteem and skills.
- Prevent vulnerable children and young people failing in education
- Helping vulnerable young people to gain confidence and help self esteem thereby reducing future disadvantage.
- Tackling the disproportionate social and economic exclusion experienced by BME communities.
- Helping BME communities to have an informed voice in the local decision making process and
- Promoting Community Cohesion
